WD2000: Cannot Change Language of Paragraph Style to a Right-to-Left Language (231391)

You are unable to change language settings for paragraph styles from non-English languages (such as Croatian, or German) to a right-to-left (bidirectional) language, such as Arabic, or Hebrew, without first resetting the language to English.
CAUSE
You cannot apply right-to-left language formatting tags to left-to-right text, or vice versa.
WORKAROUND
To modify the language for the paragraph style to a right-to-left language, do the following:
- Open your document in Word.
- On the Format menu, click Style.
- Select the name of the style that you need to change and click Modify.
- Click the Format button, and click Language. Then click English and click OK.
- Click the Format button, and click Language. Then click the right-to-left language you want and click OK.
