SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows 98 Second Edition over Microsoft Windows 95 with the Active Desktop Wallpaper (Wallpapr.htm) file enabled, the Wallpapr.htm file is removed. Although your desktop displays your color scheme, the wallpaper is not displayed.

If you view the list of wallpapers available to use in Display properties, you can select and use any other wallpaper in the list, but when you select the Wallpapr.htm file in the list, nothing happens.

CAUSE

Windows 98 Second Edition replaces the Wallpapr.htm file during Setup with the Windows98.htm file.
