XL2000: Worksheet Tabs Disappear When Selected (231132)

SYMPTOMS

When you click a sheet tab in a workbook, all the sheet tabs disappear.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  1. You hide the horizontal scroll bar in the workbook.
  2. You protect a workbook and then hide the sheet tabs by using a macro.
  3. You unprotect the workbook and unhide the sheet tabs by using a macro.
  4. You select a sheet tab other than the active sheet tab by clicking the tab or by pressing CTRL+PAGE DOWN.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, resize the workbook by dragging the resize control in the lower-right corner of the workbook window. (You may need to click the Restore Window button in the upper-right corner to allow the workbook to be resized.)

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
