XL2000: Changing Chart Title in Chart Options Dialog Box Resets Font Formatting (231110)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2000

This article was previously published under Q231110

SYMPTOMS

When you change the chart title in the Chart Options dialog box, the formatting of the chart title reverts to the default formatting.

For example, if you reformat the chart title as red, 14 point Times New Roman, and you change the Chart title on the Titles tab of the Chart Options dialog box, the formatting reverts to the original formatting (black, 12 point Arial) when you click OK. Other formatting, such as the background color does not change.

NOTE: To display the Chart Options dialog box, click Chart Options on the Chart menu.

WORKAROUND

If you already have applied custom formatting to the Chart Title text box, do not change the title on the Title tab in the Chart Options dialog box; instead, select the title directly on the chart and then edit the text there.

STATUS
