USB Speakers Do Not Work After Upgrading to Windows 98 SE (230365)

When you upgrade your computer from Windows 98 to Windows 98 Second Edition, your USB speakers may no longer function correctly.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if another sound card was detected as the preferred audio playback device during the installation.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, select the USB audio device as the preferred playback device in Windows. To do this, follow these steps:
- In Control Panel, double-click Multimedia.
- On the Audio tab, click your USB audio device in the Preferred Device box under Playback.
- Click OK, and then close Control Panel.
