Err Msg: The Specified Directory Service Could Not Be Reached (229922)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Start, point to Find, and then click People, you may receive the following error message:
The specified directory service could not be reached. The service may be temporarily unavailable or the server name may be incorrect.
If you click Web Site, you see the Web page for the information service.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you connect to the Internet using a proxy server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install a Proxy Client, such as Microsoft Proxy Client 2.0. To install and configure a proxy client on your computer, contact your network administrator.
