OFF98: AppleScript Error Starting the FileMaker Pro Add-In (229870)

SYMPTOMS

When you launch the FileMaker Pro add-in, you receive the following error:
An error occurred while trying to start this wizard. Make sure that AppleScript is properly installed on this computer.

CAUSE

You will receive this error if you do not have the AppleScriptLib extension loaded in Extensions Manager.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, load the AppleSciptLib extension. To do this using Extensions Manager, follow these steps:
  1. Save any open documents and quit all running programs.
  2. On the Apple menu, point to Control Panels, and then click Extensions Manager.
  3. click to select the AppleScriptLib and AppleScript check boxes.
  4. Click Restart. After your computer restarts, you will not receive the aforementioned error when you use the FileMaker Pro add-ins.
