The Microsoft Windows 95 Year 2000 Corporate Update (Corpupd.exe) is a follow-up to the Microsoft Windows 95 Year 2000 Update (W95y2k.exe). Note that the W95y2k.exe program must be installed before installing the Corpupd.exe program. The Windows 95 Year 2000 Corporate Update performs the following actions:
  • Removes "Windows 95 Year 2000 Update" from the list of installed programs in the Add/Remove Programs tool.
  • Removes an extraneous copy of the Command.com file from the Windows\Command folder.
  • Installs an updated Vdhcp.386 (version 4.10.1660) file needed for either the Dial-Up Networking Update (DUN1.3) or Windows Sockets 2.0.
  • Installs the QfeCheck utility.
  • Modifies the registry to permit detection by the QfeCheck utility.
  • Places a file named Corpupd.txt in the Windows folder.
