The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q229465 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel, when you load an add-in, existing add-in files may be overwritten.
Specifically, the following files may be overwritten:
- In the \Office\Library folder:
Html.xla, Acclink.xla, Autosave.xla, Sumif.xla, Eurotool.xla, Lookup.xla, Tmpltnum.xla, Wztemplt.xla, Updtlink.xla
- In the \Office\Library\Analysis folder:
Atpvbaen.xla, Funcres.xla, Procdb.xla
- In the \Office\Library\Msquery folder:
Xlodbc.xla, Xlquery.xla
- In the \Office\Library\Solver folder:
Solver.xla
CAUSE
This behavior may occur when you create an add-in and then load that add-in for the first time. When loading the add-in, Excel may not recognize the existing add-in file and may overwrite it.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, modify the add-in so that the Modified date and time of the add-in file is different than its Created date and time. To do this, when you save your add-in, resave it a second time. This will cause the Modified date and time to be later than the Created date and time.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
