WebTV for Windows Icon Missing from the Quick Launch Toolbar (229216)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft WebTV for Windows, you may not see the WebTV for Windows icon on the Quick Launch toolbar.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you restart your computer before you click Yes or No on the Intel Intercast Installation dialog box.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, manually create the WebTV for Windows icon on the Quick Launch toolbar. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
  2. Browse to, and then click the drive:\Program Files\TV Viewer folder, where drive is the drive letter where you installed WebTV for Windows.
  3. Drag the Tvx.exe file onto the Quick Launch toolbar.
