CU-SeeMe Internet Conferencing Does Not Work Using ADSL (229151)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
  • Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition

This article was previously published under Q229151

SYMPTOMS

When you try to establish a CU-SeeMe video conference with an Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) host over an Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) connection, you may be unable to connect to any Internet conference site. Also, if you are able to initialize a conference, it may time out. Note that this behavior may not occur over a modem (analog) connection, including an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) modem connection.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, disable ICS on the host computer:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Connections tab, and then click Sharing.
  3. Click to clear the Enable Internet Connection Sharing check box, and then click OK. Use CU-SeeMe on the ICS host.
