SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Site Server 3.0 services such as Personalization and Membership and Commerce Server cannot be configured to work with Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS).

CAUSE

Microsoft Site Server 3.0 is not cluster aware, but its underlying system services such as the Internet Information Server and/or SQL Server are cluster aware. Site Server 3.0 services will fail in a clustered environment.
