OFF2000: Error Message Adding File to Transform: "A File Already Matches This Destination Path\File Combination" (228670)

If you add a file to a transform in the Add Files to the Installation dialog box of the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW), the following error message may appear:
A file already matches this destination path\file combination. Please try again.
CAUSE
The error message described in the "Symptoms" section of this article may appear if you do all of the following:
- Start the Custom Installation Wizard.
- Add a file to the transform in the Add Files to the Installation dialog box.
- Finish creating your tranform and quit the Custom Installation Wizard.
- Start the Custom Installation Wizard.
- Open the same transform you just created.
- In the Add Files to the Installation dialog box, select the file you previously added and click Remove.
- Click Add and then add the same file you just removed.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, please do the following:
- Start the Custom Installation Wizard.
- In the Add Files to the Installation dialog box, click Remove to remove your file from the transform.
- Click Finish to save your transform.
- Click Exit in the Custom Installation Wizard dialog box that displays your sample command line.
- Start the Custom Installation Wizard and open the same transform you just saved.
- In the Add Files to the Installation dialog box, click Add.
- Locate and select the file you want to add, and then click Add.
- Specify the destination path for the file, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
