SYMPTOMS

When you start an Internet shortcut, Internet Explorer may start with a default window size even if the previous setting was for Full Screen mode or a maximized window.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, configure the current Internet Explorer session to use Full Screen mode or a maximized window.

For information on how to configure Internet Explorer to run in Full Screen mode, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

MORE INFORMATION

If you open a favorite link from within Internet Explorer, the current window size is retained because you are using the same Internet Explorer session and window. You can open favorites within Internet Explorer by clicking the Favorites menu or the Favorites button on the toolbar.

If you start a favorite by pointing to Favorites on the Start menu, a new Internet Explorer session starts and the default window size is used.
