SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000 on your computer, your Creative Labs Sound Blaster Pro sound card may not work.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Sound Blaster Pro driver is not a Plug and Play driver, and it may detect incorrect resources. In this case, the driver chooses the incorrect interrupt request (IRQ).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, make the appropriate changes to ensure that the jumper settings on the sound card match the resources configured in the Device Manager tool.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
