The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q228330 SYMPTOMS
Cabinet (.cab) files that contain phone book information for Connection Manager may not be created when you use a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) shortcut. For example, when you install Connection Point Services (CPS) Phone Book Administrator (PBA) on two computers that are running Windows 2000, if you create a UNC shortcut on computer 1 to the PBA on computer 2, and then start PBA from the shortcut and create a phone book release, .cab files may not be created.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, start PBA from a mounted drive.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
