Printing to Xerox Workcenter 610 May Result in "Resource in Use" Error Message (228280)

SYMPTOMS

When you print to a Xerox Workcenter 610 printer, you may receive the following error message:
Error printing to LPT1, the requested resource is in use.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the previous print job was not printed correctly. When the next print job is sent, the error message occurs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, turn the printer off and then on again, and then send the print job again.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
