This article was previously published under Q228174 SYMPTOMS
After you paste incorrect values or letters into the properties of a Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC), you may experience odd or unpredictable behavior relating to your Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) adapter.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the properties of a PVC are not designed to interpret characters other than numbers. You cannot normally enter characters other than numbers in the properties of a PVC, but you can use the Clipboard to paste characters other than numbers into this box. Entering characters other than numbers in this box can generate instabilities including odd or unpredictable behavior.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, do not use the Clipboard to paste characters other than numbers into these fields.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
