Cannot Cancel Change to the System/User Locale Regional Setting (227871)

SYMPTOMS

When you cancel a change you made to the System/User Locale Regional setting in the Regional Options tool, the changes may still take place when you restart your computer.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you cancel the change after the local files have been copied from the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the System/User Locale Regional setting in the Regional Options tool again.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
