The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q227830 SYMPTOMS
When you try to print a saved file from Lotus Freelance Graphics 9 running on Windows 2000 Professional, you receive the following error message:
Freelance Graphics cannot print because there is no usable driver in your printer folder. Go to the printer folder to select or add a printer. To go to the printer folder, choose Start - Settings Printers.
When you try to view the printer properties from the File menu, nothing happens. This behavior occurs both on network and local printers.
CAUSE
When the printer name is more than 32 characters long, it is automatically truncated. When the program tries to access the printer using the truncated name, it finds no strings that match exactly, and you receive the error message.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, change the printer name so that it is less than 32 characters.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows 2000 Professional. MORE INFORMATION
Printing from other Lotus programs with the same printer setup works fine.
