This article was previously published under Q227823 SYMPTOMS
When you use the Sndrec32.exe utility to record a .wav file, and then play back the .wav file using the Mplay32.exe or the Mplayer2.exe utilities, you may be unable to hear the recorded audio.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the sound card driver does not have wave (.wav) input. Because of this, the audio is recorded through the microphone at a very low volume, possibly making it difficult to hear.
