Compaq Tab Missing in Display Properties After Upgrade (227775)

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Compaq Deskpro 4000 computer to Windows 2000, the Compaq tab is no longer displayed in the Display Properties window.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows 2000 Setup replaces the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) provided video adapter driver with a generic Windows 2000 driver.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Compaq to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.

MORE INFORMATION

Because the OEM-supplied video driver may provide functionality that may not be compatible with Windows 2000, Setup replaces the currently installed OEM device driver with a generic driver.
