SYMPTOMS

When you run the Windows NT Diagnostics program in Windows NT 4.0 or the System Information tool in Windows 2000 and then try to view your computer's CPU speed, the displayed speed may differ from the actual speed of the CPU currently installed. For example, a computer with an Intel Pentium-II processor rated at 266 Megahertz (MHz) may be displayed as "x86 Family 6 Model 3 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~264 MHz".
