Procomm's Rapid Remote v1.5 Does Not Connect Using a TAPI Connection (227432)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to complete a connection through TAPI (modem) using the Quarterdeck Procomm Plus 32 remote control tool, the connection is not completed. The remote control tool does start and you are able to configure both client and host, but when you try to connect to the client computer, the connection is never made. However, a TCP/IP connection can be made successfully.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the version of Rrctrl.sys used by Rapid Remote is writing to protected memory.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, obtain Rapid Remote version 1.52. To obtain this program, contact the vendor.
