Sending a Fax Document at a Time You Specify
To configure your computer to send fax documents at a specific time, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Click the fax printer that you want to configure.
- On the File menu, click Printing Preferences.
- Under Time To Send, click Now, When Discount Rates Apply, or Specific time in the next 24 hours, and then click OK.
- Close the Printers dialog box.
- Start Fax Service Management by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, pointing to Accessories, pointing to Communications, clicking Fax, and then double-clicking Fax Service Management.
- In the Fax Service Management dialog box, click Devices. Double-click Devices if it is displayed in the right pane. This action sets the view in the right pane to show installed fax devices.
- Confirm that the Send and Receive settings are configured correctly for the device you want to use (the word "Yes" or "No" appears in the Send and Receive columns for each installed device indicating the device configuration). To change these settings, right-click the device, and then enable or disable the Send and Receive functions as appropriate.
- To change the location to which received faxes are sent, right-click the device, click Properties, and then click Received Faxes.

Managing a Document in the Fax Queue
To manage a document in the fax queue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Fax, and then click Fax Queue.
- Click the fax document you want.
- On the Document menu, click Pause, Resume, or Cancel.NOTE: To manage a sent fax document or cover page in the fax queue, you must have Manage Documents permissions. The commands on the Document menu are unavailable if you do not have proper permissions.
- Close the Fax Queue window.

Configuring Retry Options for Fax Documents- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Fax.
- On the Advanced Options tab, click Launch Fax Service Management.NOTE: The Fax tool is in Control Panel only if you have a fax device installed on your computer.
- Right-click Fax Service On Local Computer, and then click Properties.
- In the Number Of Retries box, type the number of times you want to try to transmit a fax after the first attempt is unsuccessful.
- In the Minutes Between Retries box, type the amount of time in minutes you want between each attempt to transmit a fax.
- In the Days Unsent Fax Is Kept box, type the number of days you want an unsent fax to stay in the fax queue.
- Click OK, close the Fax Service Management window, and then click OK on the Fax Properties dialog box.

Viewing or Printing a Fax Document
To view or print a fax document, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, point to Fax, and then click My Faxes.
- In the My Faxes folder, double-click either Received Faxes or Sent Faxes.
- Double-click the fax you want to view or print. The fax is displayed in the Imaging Preview viewer. To print the fax, click Print on the File menu.
- Close the Imaging Preview viewer, and the close the Received Faxes or Sent Faxes folder.
