SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to view the properties of your CD-R or CD-RW drive in Windows Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module MFC42.DLL at 0177:5f40492c.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Adaptec DirectCD 2.5d (Dcd25dup.exe). For additional information about DirectCD, visit the following Adaptec Web site: To work around this issue, view the properties of the drive using the icon installed by DirectCD on the right side of the taskbar.
