Removing Digi DataFire Components Cause Fatal Exception Error Message (227159)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to uninstall the Digi DataFire BRI PCI ISDN components, you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:
A Fatal Exception 0E has occurred at address

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use Device Manager to uninstall the DataFire components.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the Network tool in Control Panel to remove the components. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network.
  2. In the The following network components are installed box, click one of the DataFire components, and then click Remove. Repeat this step for each DataFire component.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Restart the computer.
