Err Msg: An Error Occurred While Accessing Task Scheduler (227077)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Desktop Themes tool from either Control Panel or the Start menu, you may receive the follow error message:
Desktop Themes

An error occurred while accessing Task Scheduler.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if you delete the Desktop Themes task from the Scheduled Tasks tool, and then you restore the task from the Recycle Bin.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove the Desktop Themes task from the Scheduled Tasks tool, and then configure the Desktop Themes to rotate monthly. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Scheduled Tasks.
  2. Click the Desktop Themes task.
  3. On the File menu, click Delete.
  4. When you are prompted to confirm the file deletion, click Yes.
  5. Quit Task Scheduler.
  6. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  7. Double-click Desktop Themes, click to select the Rotate Theme Monthly check box, and then click OK.
  8. Close Control Panel.
