Program Loses Sound After Computer Resumes from Suspend Mode (227076)

If your computer enters Suspend mode when a program that uses DirectSound is running, you may stop hearing sounds from your program after you resume your computer and use the program.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the DirectSound components of your program do not resume properly when you resume your computer from Suspend mode.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install the DirectX 6.1 Technology Update from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site:
To work around this issue, close the program and then restart it.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
