The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
- Microsoft Clip Gallery 5.0 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q226640 SYMPTOMS
When you open the Microsoft Clip Gallery by double-clicking the ClipArt placeholder on the Clip Art & Text or Text & Clip Art PowerPoint slide layouts, you will not be able to drag a clip image from the Clip Gallery to the slide. Instead, your pointer will change to the Not symbol when you drag a clip over the presentation.
CAUSE
When Clip Gallery is started from a PowerPoint ClipArt placeholder, you can only use the Insert button to insert a clip to the placeholder.
WORKAROUND
If you want to use the drag and drop technique to move a clip image to a slide, you can start Clip Gallery 5.0 by using one of the following commands:
- Click the Clip Gallery button located on the Drawing tool bar.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and click Clip Gallery.
