PPT2000: Embossed Text Disappears When Saving as HTML (226570)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
This article was previously published under Q226570 SYMPTOMS
When you preview a Web page or save as HTML for version 4.0 browsers, embossed text may seem to disappear in the HTML presentation. This problem occurs in presentations that originated in PowerPoint 95.
CAUSE
The HTML generated by PowerPoint does not support embossing. When embossed text is converted to HTML, it is rendered as normal text using the normal text color in the slide color scheme.
However, embossed text created in PowerPoint 95 is created differently than embossed text in PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 2000. When generated as HTML, this embossed text is rendered as normal text using the background fill color. This makes the text indistinguishable from the background and the text seems to disappear.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- On the Format menu, click Font.
- Under Effects, click to clear the Emboss check box.
- Select a new color from the Color list. This is the color that the text will be when saved as HTML.
- Under Effects, click to clear the Emboss check box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
