If you have an Intel YC72 or YC76 USB PC Imaging Camera installed on your computer and you upgrade to Windows 2000, you receive the following error message during Setup:
System Process - Driver Entry Point Not Found
The SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\Usbintel.sys device driver could not locate the entry point USBCAMD_InitializeNewInterface in driver USBCAMD.SYS.
After the upgrade has completed, the device seems to function correctly.
CAUSE
This problem occurs immediately after you upgrade the operating system because the system looks for a new interface in the USBcamd support library, but the old USBcamd library (which does not support the new interface and is statically loaded) remains in memory.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, restart the computer. This error message is displayed only once; the error is permanently fixed after you restart the computer.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
