Characters Displayed Incorrectly in Date and Time Dialog Box (226445)

During the GUI mode of Windows Setup, the contents of the dialog box where you configure the date and time may be displayed incorrectly.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you configure the regional settings to use the Japanese locale.
NOTE: Non-ANSI text cannot be displayed by the GUI mode of Setup.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, configure your the Regional Options tool to use the Japanese locale after Setup completes. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional Options.
- Under Language settings for the system, click to select the Japanese check box.
- In the Your locale (location) list, click Japanese, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
