Winnt32.exe Does Not Recognize Dual Processors Using Windows 98 as a Safe Build (226434)

SYMPTOMS

When you install over the network, Windows 2000 does not install dual-processor support on NEC Express5800 LE2200-series computers using Microsoft Windows 98 as a safe build. However, if you install Windows 2000 from the CD-ROM using Windows 98 as a safe build on NEC Express5800 LE2200-series computers, Windows 2000 does support dual processors.

CAUSE

Windows 98 does not support dual processors. Therefore, Windows 98 does not report the existence of the second processor.
