Epson Stylus Color 800 Incorrectly Detected as Incompatible During Upgrade (226375)

When you upgrade from Microsoft Windows 95 to Windows 2000, your Epson Color Stylus 800 printer is incorrectly detected as an incompatible printer.
CAUSE
There is an Epson Stylus Color 800 ESC/P 2 driver included with Windows 2000, but it is not used because the printer is not detected correctly.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install the printer manually:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click Add Printer.
- Click Next, click Local Printer, and then click to clear the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box. Click Next.
- Click the appropriate port for the printer, and then click Next.
- In the Manufacturers box, click Epson. In the Printers box, click Epson Stylus Color 800 ESC/P 2, and then click Next.
- Make other selections as appropriate and finish the Add Printer Wizard.
