256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry
SUMMARY
By default, the Active Directory Connector (ADC) replicates in five-minute intervals. After the replication cycle starts, replication occurs for five minutes and if it does not finish, the ADC pauses for five minutes before starting replication again. The ADC is designed this way so that the directories it connects to will not be over-stressed. You can change the amount of time the ADC waits before continuing replication by adding an entry to the Windows registry called
Sync Sleep Delay (secs). You change the amount of time the ADC replicates before pausing by adding an entry to the Windows registry called
Max Continuous Sync (secs).
The following event ID and description is displayed when the replication pause is occurring. This event is entered when ADC logging is set to minimum.
Type: Information
Event ID: 8179
Source: MSADC
Category: Replication
Description:
The Connection Agreement 'Connection Agreement Name' has paused the replication after 300 seconds. The replication will resume in 300 seconds.
The following steps are necessary to change the ADC replication delay to one minute.
