After you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based or Microsoft Windows 98-based computer to Windows 2000, Microsoft Works for Windows, version 4.5, does not function properly and may not start.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Windows 2000 does not contain a Migrate.dll file for Works 4.5.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, reinstall Works after you upgrade to Windows 2000.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
A Compatibility report is generated at the beginning of the upgrade process. This report lists hardware and software that is incompatible with Windows 2000. You can cancel Windows 2000 Setup if the incompatibilities are not acceptable.
In this particular case, Works 4.5 is identified in the Compatibility report. You must make a decision to continue with Windows 2000 Setup.
