SYMPTOMS

When you try to adjust the volume for microphone input on your Sound Blaster Pro sound card, the volume control for microphone input is unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the drivers for the Sound Blaster Pro sound card do not support the volume control for microphone input in Windows 2000 or Windows NT.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
