When you apply any of the configuration files included with Security Configuration Manager (SCM), the following licensing error message is displayed:
The system has detected tampering with your registered product type. This is a violation of your software license. Tampering with product type is not permitted.
SCM quits and leaves the BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) computer in a partially changed state.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because SCM is incompatible with SBS.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do not use SCM with SBS.
If you apply an SCM template to an SBS computer, restore the server from a backup or reinstall SBS on the server to avoid future problems.
