Natural Keyboard Elite: Function Keys Do Not Work and Keyboard Recognized as an 84-Key Keyboard (224970)

When you type using the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite, the Function keys may not work and the keyboard may be recognized as an 84-key keyboard.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you run Attachmate software while you type using the Natural Keyboard Elite.

To resolve this issue, add the OverrideKeyboardType DWORD value to the following registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters
and then change the value data of this value from 0 to 4.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite, version 1.0.
