WD2000: Hyperlink to Anchor or Bookmark Goes to Top of Document (224672)

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or in a PowerPoint Presentation, when you click a hyperlink that contains a bookmark to open a Word document at the bookmarked text, Word opens the document and goes to the top of the first page.
NOTE: Word does not jump to the specific bookmark contained in the Word document.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, save the Word document from Internet Explorer to your system, and then open the file in Microsoft Word.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Word 2002.
