The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q224639

SYMPTOMS

When you print a document using the Pages per sheet option, your printer requests and/or prints a paper size different from the paper size that you set using Page Setup in Word (on the File menu, click Page Setup and then click the Paper Size tab).

To print more than one page per sheet:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. In the Zoom section of the Print dialog box, click to select the number of Pages per sheet.

CAUSE

When you print a document whose paper size differs from your printer's default paper size and you choose to print more than one page per sheet, your printer's paper size is used instead of the paper size you have set using Page Setup (on the File menu, click Page Setup and then click the Paper Size tab).

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, change your printer's default paper size to match the paper size you set in the Page Setup dialog box. To set the default paper size for your printer, do the following:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Paper tab to set the default paper size.
