CAUSE
Before you start the online broadcast, two File Transfer Service sessions must be established with the NetShow server. If the NetShow server cannot fulfill this request, you will receive the error message described in the Error Message section of this article.
THINGS TO TRY
Make sure that the presenter is a member of both the Administrators group and the NetShow Administrators group on the NetShow Server. Make sure that NetShow is configured and running properly on the NetShow Server, and that the presenter computer can connect to these services. To do this, follow these steps: - Make sure that the Sample.ASF in the ASFROOT directory on the NetShow server.
- On the Windows Start menu of the presenter computer, click Run. In the Open box, type the following:
mms://servername/sample.asf
Click OK. - The Windows Media player should play the Sample.ASF on the presenter computer. If it does not, contact your NetShow administrator or consult your NetShow documentation.
To test if there is too much activity on the NetShow Server or if there may be network connectivity problems between the NetShow server and the Presenter Machine, set up a new online broadcast. Select one audience member and do not use a NetShow server. If this step works, then the network between the Presenter Machine and the NetShow server is not functioning properly, or the NetShow server is off-line or configured incorrectly. In this case, contact your NetShow administrator or consult your NetShow documentation.
If the new online broadcast involving only the Presenter Machine and one audience member does not work, please see the General Troubleshooting section in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
