ERROR MESSAGE
When you do a presentation broadcast and use a microphone or a video camera, you may receive the following error message:
You don't have ASDFileName registered on your computer.

CAUSE
This may occur if the registered location of the default audio.asd file is incorrect, or the file is missing. WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
This may also happen if you change the default ASD path at the following registry location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\9.0\PowerPoint\Broadcast\Netshow\Options
<B>Value</B>: AudioASD = <I BRACKET="YES">filename</I>
Where filename is the full path and filename of the custom audio.asd that you have created. If this path is incorrect, you will receive the error mentioned in the Symptoms section of this article.
THINGS TO TRYRun Office Repair- Close all programs that are open.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click your Microsoft Office 2000 installation, and then click Add/Remove.
- In the Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode dialog box, click Repair Office.
- In the Reinstall/Repair Microsoft Office 2000 dialog box, click to select Repair errors in my Office installation, and then click Finish.
- When the Office Repair is finished, you may be prompted to restart Windows. If you are, click Yes and let Windows restart.
