SUMMARY
When a Windows 2000 client recalls a file that has been archived to off-line storage by the Remote Storage Server service, a "Recall in progress" notice appears on the screen stating that the file is being recalled from off-line storage.
Also, when you browse the share or volume using Windows Explorer, the file icon changes to include a small hour glass to note that it has been migrated to Remote Storage. When you use the command prompt to view the files, the file size field appears in parentheses also noting they are migrated, as in the following example:
07/07/98 08:09p (515,584) NTMS_API.DOC
07/07/98 08:09p (248,585) ProGuide.doc
12/02/98 07:38p (321,536) Removable Storage Management.doc
When you browse the same shares using a Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0 client, these attributes do not appear, and when you attempt to open the files, you do not receive the "Recall in progress" message.
