ERROR MESSAGE
When you try to sort a list, the following error message may appear:
The current selection does not contain a valid table or list.

THINGS TO TRY
Sort Ascending and Sort Descending on the Tables and Borders toolbar will not sort a normal text list.
To use the
Sort Ascending button or
Sort Descending button (on the
Tables and Borders toolbar), your list must be contained either in a table column with a column heading or in a text list with a column heading, as in the following example:
Fruits
Pears
Apples
Bananas
As an alternative, you can use the
Sort Text dialog box (on the
Table menu, click
Sort).
