THINGS TO TRY

Word does not allow you to name two styles with the same style name or name a style with the same style name as a default, built-in style.

To work around this, use a different style name to describe the style. For more information about styles, click Microsoft Word Help on the Help menu, type styles in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned.
