OL2000: Saving an HTML Message As an HTML File Removes Images (223946)

SYMPTOMS

If you receive an HTML-formatted message that was created using Microsoft Word, and the message contains graphic images, when you save the message as an HTML file the images may not be saved. As a result, when you open the HTML file, the image appears as an empty box.

RESOLUTION

Use another file format when creating the message, such as the Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format. This will allow you to save the message as either a Word document, or a Rich Text file. both these formats preserve the images.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
