SBCM: Contacts Not Imported After Being Separated from SBCM (223847)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Small Business Customer Manager, when used with:
    • Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business Tools
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q223847

SYMPTOMS

In Outlook, if you use the Separate from Small Business Customer Manager command and then attempt to import the Contacts using Small Business Customer Manager (SBCM), you see the updating message, but contacts are not imported.

CAUSE

The specified command resets the message class of each contact selected, but does not change the SBCM database Contact Index number.

MORE INFORMATION

The Separate from Small Business Customer Manager command reassigns the message class of the Outlook contacts from IPM.Contact.SBE to the default IPM.Contact. Since the SBCM Contact ID is still set, the import process assumes that the Contact does not need to be imported.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
