OL2000: "Reply to All" Keyboard Shortcut Does Not Work After Using Multiple Copy Commands (223620)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q223620 SYMPTOMS
If you open a received e-mail message and use the Copy command two or more times, when you press ALT+L to invoke the Reply to All command, nothing happens.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the ALT+L keyboard combination that you use in Outlook to invoke the Reply to All command is also the same keyboard combination you can use in the Clipboard toolbar to invoke the Paste All command.
When you use the Copy command twice in succession in an open Outlook item, the Clipboard toolbar is displayed. When the Clipboard toolbar is active, your attempt to press ALT+L to use the Reply to All command is unsuccessful.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods to invoke the Reply to All command:
- Press SHIFT+CTRL+R instead of ALT+L.
- Close the Clipboard toolbar before you press ALT+L.
- Click Reply to All on the toolbar.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
